Happy kind of sort of not really anniversary!!

One year ago conference weekend Joseph and I had our first official post mission date! Since we also met for the first time under the awkward circumstances of me being dumped on his lawn in for the Saturday sessions of conference in April 2007 to day is our "kind of sort of but not really anniversary!" We have been officially together for a whole year! And we have known each other for FIVE years now! Isn't it crazy!!  Who know that in randomly going to a strangers house to watch convergence I would meet the love of my life! (Not that I knew who he was for the first few years).
I can't begin to tell you how grateful I am I had such a strong impression  to be sure and watch conference that first year I was at college! The Lord works in mysterious ways indeed. I am so grateful for my amazing husband! He is the most thoughtful man a girl could dream of! So happy kind of sort of but not really anniversary Joseph K Sagers! I love you so much!!

Since we've known each other 5 years now I decided to post 5 reasons Joseph is my very best friend!

1- He can always make me laugh, even when  I don't want to.

2-He thinks it's funny when I'm mad at him. (It's a very good quality of his.)

3- He is always honest with me, even when he knows I wont like what I am about to hear.

4-He cares about the little things.

5- He makes me a better me!

Also, he's just plain silly! That's more than 5 I know. But he's an amazing guy! I just can't help thinking how glad I am Heavenly Father is willing to help us make big decisions and to put people in our lives we may have missed otherwise. I mean without Katie Porter I was never going to Tootle. And without a relief society who always had activities of writing missionaries I may never have written to Joseph, and the I never would have married him and met his wonderful family! I guess what I am trying to say in my rambling way is that today I feel well and truly blessed to be married to Joseph, and to be able to know all the amazing people he's brought into my life since we first met all those years ago!

New Hair and New Friends!

I thought I'd give the highlights of our spring break. It was pretty uneventful as Joseph had to work. Monday and Tuesday we went to visit my parents and while we were their I got a haircut. It was the first time my hair was long enough to donate to locks of love so I was pretty excited about that!

Before
In case any of you are unfamiliar with crude had singles of foreign countries. Giving someone 'the hand' in Guatemala is a very crude sign. Worse than 'the finger. I do not remember what promoted me to give Joseph a double hand in this photo but I'm sure he said something he thought was funny.
After

And of course, this is how my hair really looks.

On other news, Thursday we went down to visit Taylor in the big city and spend all our gift cards to places we don't have in Logan. Joseph made instant friends with Taylor's little girl affectionately known as "Peanut". Peanut is usually a very shy little girl. She doesn't even like to see her grandma or my mom (because they look alike), and my little sister stayed with her for a week after my cousin Taylor broke her ankle. After a full week of trying Peanut still didn't want to be held by Tory.

After just a few minutes with Joseph however, Peanut had a new friend. She was very worried about him any time she couldn't see him she'd yell out "Joe". They had good times holding hands and playing with all the toys at Target.

Baby Nathan is Here!
8lbs 1 oz 19 in

We've had an interesting morning. Curtis and I spent the morning having long conversations about babies and cho-choos and all sorts of things. Then when Joseph (aka Ju-ju) came home we went to the hospital to meet baby Nathan.

Of course we took a cho-choo to pass the time.

And we read books!

And played with "Eee"'s camera taking pictures. (this one was not a bad shot for a 2 year old)

And at long last they brought the baby to the window. As you can see from the poor boy's face, he was a little unsure about the whole situation. He keep saying. Baby sad, baby sad all day. We asked him what the baby's name was and he said, "blue hat" but after practicing most of the morning he has finally got it down that the babies name is Nathan.

Sorry the picture's aren't so good. But the glass got in the way. Curtis and i are going back to the hospital after we drop Ju-ju off at work. We'll see if I can get better pictures then. Also, how Curtis feels about his little brother once it sinks in that he's not just a baby in a window! :)

Field Trip

Today Curtis and I decided to go on a little bus ride while Sarah was in class. Who knew the bus was a cure all for Curtis' shyness. (Well at least for me. He wouldn't even make eye contact with anyone else let alone talk to them). For almost two hours we just road around on the bus and he loved every minute of it! At least the minutes we were actually on a bus. We changed routs a few time and he didn't like waiting for a new bus, but he was so cute! He would tell each bus 'bye bus' and say 'bye' to all the buses we past. Then he would say "hello new bus" to all the new buses we got on. He loved looking out the window and telling me the colors of all the cars, pointing out and pretending to shoot birds, making animal sounds of any animal we passed. We also had a long talk about getting a new house and a new baby brother. Not sure he really knows what that is going to be like, but he at least has it memorized that big changes are coming. He kept telling me his new house is blue (don't think it really is). He also knows that his little brother is in his mom right now. He's a little hesitant about baby brother coming to live in hes new (hopefully blue) house. Also, he loved campus, he liked to look at all the 'big houses' (buildings). I don't think I've ever heard the little guy say so much in a singe day. Oh and counting, he loved to count the buses and big trucks. Anyway, it was really fun. It's so nice to watch Curtis now that he actually likes to spend time with me. He's going to be getting a LOT of "Ju-ju and Eee" time  when his little brother is born. He's even going to have a sleep over with us....and then we'll see if he still likes us!!

Possible Blasphemy.

You know, people tell you all the time that sarcasm is wrong. My mission president and institute teachers have frequently lectured us about the topic. Sarcasm is harmful to others. It twists thoughts. It's the child of a lie and an insult. Sarcasm is evil they say....

Well I think Heavenly Father can be a smart-alic if he wants to be. And I think at this time in my life He does want to be.

Maybe that is blasphemous. But Heavenly Father is a parent at the end of the day isn't he. And like all fathers, I think he likes to through a wrench in our lives and sit back and chuckle now and again.

Just sayin....

Yes I am pouting like a little child right now. I accept that. I will be humble and happy tomorrow.....maybe.....
