A Playmobil Christmas...

So before I get started I just wanted to finish up with "our first married Christmas". Day 11 was "On our next married Christmas how different life will be, We'll have dippers to be wiping."

So For our 12 day I was going to do something with Drum Sticks, but KFC closed early and I could't find the ice creme dumb sticks at the grocery stor. So i decided to work off of 11 and point toward the future. So i went with 12 months of memories and let him open his big present early. We got a camera to capture all   the memories between now and next Christmas.

Tiered as he was when I gave it to him, he was very excited.

And speaking of memorable things, one of my favorite memories of this Christmas is that Joseph and I both bought each other playmobils. I collect Nativities and earlier this year Joseph gave me a Nativity he had brought from Guatemala for Christmas. Which I loved. But then when out Christmas shopping I saw a playmobil nativity. I immediately came home and told Joseph about how amazing it was. Playmobil's were a big part of his child hood, he and his brothers had huge sets of them. And I had played with my older brothers as well. He just kind of brushed it off and said that's nice and I thought that was the end of it. I had already bought the Noah's ark set for Joseph (and eventually the baby). Ok so it was mostly for the  baby but I knew Joseph would love it. (And he does!!) Anyway back to my shopping trip, the reason I had talked myself out of the Playmobil Nativity was it was the ONLY playmobil set not on sale, and Joseph had given me the one from Guatemala already.

Here is the crazy coincidence of it all, Joseph had gone shopping just a few days before me at the same store and bought the playmobil Nativity which was not supposed to be on sale, but since it was on the same shelf with some others he talked them into giving it to him for 50% off. Thus when I went shopping two days later, everything was labeled very clearly "All Playmobils 50%off EXCEPT the nativity."...I just thought it was funny.

We have lots of great pictures on our new camera from Christmas in Tooele...but I can't post them just yet as I do not yet know how to work the camera...I'll get some posted later.

Our First Married Christmas Continued...

For day Five of our First married Christmas I have Joseph "Lord of the Rings" in place of Five Golden Rings...as an added bonus we also went to see the Hobbit with our friends Collin and Johnita and Michelle and Keven. All and all day five was pretty amazing.

Day 6 has defiantly been Joseph's favorite. In place of 6 Geese a laying I did "6 Eggs with Bacon". I got up really early to make him breakfast. It could have been a Bacon commercial  I timed it out so that I was just finishing breakfast right when our alarm would be going off. So just as it started beeping I crawled back into bed to pretend I had been there all along. Joseph rolled over and told me...'wow, you smell amazing,' then his eyes popped wide open and he exclaimed, "like BACON!".

This is our little pond of "Little Baby Bath Toys" in place of Seven Swans A Swimming"

I uses Swiss Miss for Milk Maids and just to make it extra special I used the left over Hot Chocolate from our wedding as Christmas time is also our anniversary time.

"9 Peeps for Roasting" is kind of an inside thing....

Day 10 was on e of the most difficult. Originally I planed on making a cd of 10 songs that meant something special to Joseph and I and use the picture of us dancing aka 'leaping' as the cover. Only Joseph and I don't even have 'a song' let along 10 songs, so that turned out not to work so well. Then I thought i'd just use the picture, but I was out of time to find a frame. So I had a pack of snicker nutcracker 'lords' I had meant for stocking stufer. In the end the addition of the two pictures of my handsome dancing husband the 8 chocolate lords a leaping made 10.

And that is the days of our First Married Christmas so far. It has been so much fun! I love seeing how excited Jospeh gets to see the gift of the day. And especially how much he loves the little notes I leave with each of them. Day 7 was one of the first I didn't have ready when I left for work in the morning and Joseph called me at lunch as said, "You forgot my day for Christmas." it was adorable.

Also here are some more adventures in Christmas Cookie decorating for the neighbors. I am particularly fond of Joseph's method of cookie decorating. Not a single cookie looked the same, it was fun to watch him work!

Also for those of you who are not familiar with the infamous man mug mentioned in the last post, here is a picture with the giant cookie. The normal size plastic cup is their for scale.

12 Days of "Our First Married Christmas"

So for Christmas this year I wanted to do something special for Joseph as it is our very first married Christmas, and we won't be spending as much time with either of our families as we are used to doing because we have grown up jobs now. So I decided to do our "First Married Christmas"....Here's what I've got so far.

"For our First Married Christmas my true love gave to me..."
"A puppy in a lime green tree"

Joseph really wants a dog, and he isn't the biggest fan our my little tree as it is so girly, but hey. You work with what you've got.

The second day was "Two chocolate Doves" ...and a bag of candy for your pregnant wife.

Today was "Three Aggie Fans" because Joseph went to the Potato Bowl with two of his brothers and a little nephew. I gave him an inflatable Aggie thingy to use the technical term...kind of cheap of me because we already had it, but Joseph appreciated it. Go Aggies! I'm so proud of them, they won their first bowl game ever today...but moving on.

Tomorrow will be day 4. So it will be "Foreign calling cards!" Instead of four calling birds...this is one of the more clever I thought. I was very glad to have come up with it. I write a little note with each of them as well, telling Joseph one thing I have learned to appreciate about him in our first year of marriage. It has been very fun to do.

And continuing on in the Christmas Spirit. I had a Christmas Cookie explosion at my house today.
Here is just a small sampling of the many varieties of sugar cookies I made. I used grandma's recipe with the Almond frosting. I love the smell of Almond extract, it makes me think of my Grandma Payne! Making her cookies really made me homesick, but I'm glad I am continuing the tradition for my own family. I tried to make her peppermint cookies too....I shall have to try again another day though... I failed rather badly at them this time.

Sarah and Nathan came over and helped me decorate the cookies. Sarah is amazing with a zip lock back and food coloring, she is responsible for all the fine detailing on the cookies.  Nathan also contributed by eating damaged cookies and taking a very long and well timed nap! Thank you Mr. Chubs!

With the last bid of left over dough I made Joseph a giant man cookie so he can dip it in his giant man mug he is so in love with. Its our little family!

And this picture didn't work out, but its the only recent picture I have our little family and out tree...you can kind of see the baby bump growing...kind of...anywho...Merry Christmas! I'll up date our 12 days after a few more days have gone by.

Holy Sheet...

So here is baby girl Sagers first gift. It was from her Aunt Michelle, (there is a crib sheet underneath ) I thought it would be a cute way to announce on our blog. We are both so excited to be having a baby girl, though Joseph is now convinced that he needs to buy a shot gun. I told him he could start saving, I don't think we'll need it for at least 15 years or so. But I did splurge a little on cute girl things when out shopping with my mom and Michelle today.
I never liked utltra sound pictures and I always wondered why people posted them. They are so much more adorable when your baby! I will spare you the 'yep it's a girl' picture, but here is her cute little face. You can see her pointy little Mills chin, Kole and Kruz have ponty chins too.

We haven't got a named picked yet. But our list consists of : Charlotte, Bridgette, Rinna, Mariah, or Shilo with Mae, Robin, Kay and Lyn as possible middle names.

Feel free to vote, but we don't want any more suggestions. We can't narrow it down as it is.

Happy Birthday Joseph!!

Joseph just had his birthday! He is officially 25 years old. There are three months of the year that Joseph and I are the same age and the rest of the year he is old. Unforgettably for him that means he is old until next August.

We had a three day weekend so we went down to my parents house to celebrate Joseph's birthday which was really fun! My dad offered him a pony, and he got to play farmer for his special day so I think he had a good time.

We were also able to help out Tory with her first school dance. She wanted to ask a boy do Sadies but she didn't know what to do. So Joseph and I helped out.

Here is Tory running away after door bell ditching the awesome poster Joseph made.

Here's the poster. Tory came up with the saying "I mustache you a question" but Joseph painted the sign and I purchased the giant mustache. It looks painted on in the picture but it is actually wired on. Tory hid her name in a pie tin full of shaving creme.

And that is what is happening in our little lives for now.

Crafty time

So here are some of the pics of my 'announcement' for my work. Not sure how the last one ended up upside down. It turned out really cute, and it was much easier than I thought it would be. Mostly because Nathan was a very cooperative little human stamp and Sara pretty much did everything. Each little baby foot ghost is labeled as one of the tellers at the bank, and my ghost has a baby green ghost painted inside of it. It will still be another month until we know if it is a pink or a blue blueberry.

On the up side, I survived my first trimester! It's so crazy how much better I feel than I did a few weeks ago. I come home from work and actually feel like making dinner and cleaning and spending time with Joseph. And I can eat food! Well....much more so than I could a few weeks ago anyway. It's a good thing I've gotten some energy back too, October is a busy month for us.

Other good news, Joseph got a new calling. He is in the Young Men's presidency, over the deacons. The poor ward is in for it. Not much else to report on for the moment. Maybe we'll post again for Joseph's birthday, and if not, for sure by Halloween.

Yummy!!!

I had the day off work today, because I was supposed to go to SLC to hang out with my Mom at the Dairy Women's convention, but my mom had to cancel  So I decided to get my home maker on for the day since I was home from work. Joseph and I had a rough year with our garden but somehow we managed some very healthy tomato plants, and since there are are very few forms in which Joseph will eat tomato I decided to make Salsa! Yummy! It's a corn and black been recipe so we used our tomatoes and mom and dad's corn and peppers from Andy and Michelle! I've never canned my myself so hopefully they turn out,  but it was sure yummy fresh!!

Other than my adventure pretending to be a little house wife not much has changed. I'm still pretty sick for most of every day (which made peeling tomatoes a real treat let me tell you) but they gave me some medicine that at least keeps me from throwing up every singe day. I still manage to pick work when I do throw up though. I'm pretty sure one of the other girls there thinks I have an eating disorder. I'm working on a little project to announce to my work that I"m having a baby. I'll post it when I finish it.

Oh, and Joseph has a new calling he just got put in the Young Men's presidency, over the deacons. He says he feels right at home. He was very excited to go 'play with his new friends' at mutual tonight. I hope the ward survives them all!

Family Pictures!

So Joseph and I have some pretty exciting news! We have a little blueberry on the way! Now before you get too excited, blueberries don't grow in Utah, we are actually talking about about a baby. But when we first  started looking things up on the internet we were about seven weeks along it said "your baby is approximately the size of  a blueberry". Since I had been puking my guts out for about a week, and I have long declared that blueberries make me sick, it seemed fitting. And even now, though the baby is much bigger the title of blueberry just stuck. In fact since that time Tory has lengthened the nick name to "The bonnie wee blueberry".

In any event we thought we'd post a few pictures of our new little family!!

Original we thought about telling our family this way, but then, their was a little too much explanation necessary for it to be fun. In the end we used Easter eggs with a little note that said "Ester 2013 1+1=3" with a blue a pink and a yellow candy egg in them.

So here is the actually blueberry.  Tory says it looks like the baby is waving. Sara says it just looks like the baby has  Joseph's personality...I can kind of see both.

Flowers!!

My husband is so adorable. Two weeks ago I was having a really rough time at work and so my adorable husband sent me flowers!! They were so beautiful, and they were our wedding flowers!!

Also for Tory's birthday she came up to visit me and we went to the farmers market. As an added bonus Melissa showed up with her kids. I forgot to get my camera out until right before they left so my pictures are not the best but I figured I'd post them, such as they are. Maria had much better pics than me.

My poor little Doodle looks so sad in this pic. He was tiered and ready for bed.

Fin didn't like my flash.

Nadia with her bracelet her Aunt Maria bought for her.

And our smiley little Gwenie!

True Love

This is what true love looks like!

So today was my first day of work. I was really nervous last night and even a little panic stricken this morning as Joseph drove me to work. (He had the day off). But work went pretty well. The girls I work with are all really great and all I really had to do was take notes and learn how some of the computer programs work. But Joseph was so sweet. First he came and picked me up for my lunch break. He had made a really nice lunch and took me to a park so we could eat together. Then when I got home he had an iced class and a can of cold Dr. Pepper waiting for me. What an amazing husband!! He is so adorable! I love him.

Also, we went down to the Monroe for the Pioneer Day celebration. .And because he is so great Joseph let my little nephew's and cousin's drag him around. Kole insisted that Joseph ride the mechanical bull, so here is some footage of that as well.

And here is Kole on the bull.

A lot had happened since my last update. We moved! My aunt and uncle are on a mission and have generously offered to have us house sit for them. So we are living in style in Providence, rather than the cinder block igloo affectionately known as Aggietraz. Also, I got a job!! I'm going to be working as a teller at Cache Valley Bank. I'm really excited about that. So even though there have been some big changes, not a lot to say just yet. Still here are some pictures from the move.

Here is a cartoon Tory drew on the side of one of the moving boxes. It is a pretty accurate depiction of Joseph and my attitudes leading up to moving day.

Here is a pic of us in our first apartment...awh....

And of course our little nephew Curtis had to eradicate all the bears from our new house before we could move in so here is a picture of Joseph helping Curtis hunt down all the bears.

Love this!!

Rescued by Christ

I love this video! Aren't you glad that when we are idiots, no one puts us down!!!

Today I'm not pretending.

So I've been waiting for something exciting to happen so I could update by blog. But then I decided, why pretend my life is interesting when I could just embrace the truth of my existence. Which is that I have no job,  and since my husband has two and we only have one car. I am a bum that sits at home. We are moving soon, which is exciting as packing gives me something to do. But I usually run out of the boxes Joseph brings home early on in the day. And then I return to being a bum, so just in case any of my family out there is wondering if I've died. Never fear, I've just become a hermit.
And that's my life, not pretending for now.

Trip to Texas

Last week my mom and I flew out to Texas to visit my sister Melissa and her four kids. Well and her husband too...but lets be honest we were mostly there for the new baby!! It was a pretty eventful adventure making it out there but we had a great time. Here are a few pics of the new baby. My mom has pictures of the boys two but my camera battery died early on. I'm having a really lazy day so i wont tell the   whole story but here are the pics for those of you who care.
And here is our new Gwendolyn Kate! She's a cutie! And she always eats her grumble cakes for breakfast! She is scowling almost all the time.

Nadia loves having a baby sister! Here they are in the matching outfits their mom made them.

And of course I had to post a pic of Gwenie's adorable  little swimming suit! It's so cute and  tiny! I fell in love with it at the store!

And since we had to by a swimming suit we HAD do go swimming!

Too bad the heater in the pool had been on for days so the both pools felt like a hot tub. The kids didn't really like it. As you can see the little Doolde preferred to sit on the outside.
